How It Works
Photographing Your Pet
You may already have a favorite picture, if not here are some tips for photographing your pet

1.  Look at the Gallery of pet portraits here to get ideas of poses and settings you might like. Try to get in close to your pet, filling the frame with your pet rather than with scenery. Take extra close-ups of the face for detail. These will be helpful.

2. Take the photographs at your pet’s level or put him on a chair or table. It may be helpful to have someone distract your pet while your photograph him.

3. Have good lighting. If you are indoors, try taking the same picture with and without a flash.

4. Try to get accurate color. It is very important that the photographs are clear and accurate.

Remember that the finished portrait depends on the quality of the photographs that you send.

1. You will start by having a phone conversation with Linda. During this time you all will determine the size, price , etc. of the painting she will do for you. The details below apply to any commissioned painting - landscape, still life, etc.

2. You will then mail Linda pictures and a non-refundable deposit which will be 50% of the cost of the painting. Linda paints  from just one photo, but it is good to send several so that you all can choose the best one for your pet's portrait. If you want to have more than one pet in the portrait, you can send separate pictures and she'll  put them together and email you what the portrait will look like - and will wait for your approval before starting.
Be sure to make good quality copies of the photos  you are sending  - please keep the originals and send only copies.

It is often possible to email your photos to Linda. In most cases it is  good to also send actual pictures

3. It will usually take 2 -4 months to complete your painting.
When it is almost finished, Linda will email you a picture of the painting for your approval and to make any changes you feel  are necessary.  When  these changes  are complete Linda  will  email you  another picture   for  your final approval.

4. Once you are completely happy with the painting,  you will pay the balance due on the painting - which will include the cost of packing and shipping - and your painting  will be shipped to you.

Linda is determined to create a painting for you that you will treasure.
So far 100% of her customers have loved their paintings!
